Campaign Overview
The Community Brave Foundation is using social media for social good! We're raising funds to help build our custom web portal that will allow online conversations between young LGBTIQ people and our trained staff to address the issues
surrounding bullying. This in turn will help us reduce homophobia, biphobia, intersexphobia and transphobia.
What we have achieved so far
(Click on the above image to watch our celebrity intro video)
Over the past two years we have been working very hard to establish our team, build our training program and release a series of videos from high profile Australian's who support our cause. These include:
Former Prime Minister Julia Gillard | Former
Finance Minister Penny Wong
Leader of the Greens Christine Milne | Former
Education Minister Peter Garrett
The Sydney Swans | Jessica Rowe |
Geoff Field | Charlotte Dawson
We've also built our Creative Youth Hub - a safe online space for young people to combat stress and anxiety by utilising their creativity. Check out these two videos:

Our 24/7 Digital Platform
Our online digital platform is the flagship product of The Community Brave Foundation, helping us reach and communicate with young people, especially young LGBTIQ people when they are most in need. Research has indicated that young people,
especially young LGBTIQ people, often cry out for help when it comes to bullying using social media and digital technology. Tragically, some of these young people are further bullied online, or have no one with the right skills to speak to. This is where Community
Brave will be pro-active in providing a guidance and informative service, using digital technology to allow young people to communicate with someone, when they are most in need.
Once youth are through to our trained staff members, they will then start to use our private and anonymous services where they will discuss their bullying issues in an instant messenger like environment. This is a one-on-one conversation
with our staff, which is recorded for audit trail purposes. Our staff will also have the option to escalate a ‘conversation’ to the team leader who will have the ability to contact emergency services where required (we are working with Police departments across
the country to have them on our ‘speed dial’ numbers where required).
Staff will also have clear referral pathways to organisations that can provide further information in person, or direct youth to our online resource centre which lists numbers, websites, contacts and services. The objective of this platform
is to help young people with guidance and advice when they are being bullied.
Our Champions Training Program
The Champions Training Program (CTP) is a program that we have designed with several established organisations and training providers. We aim to deliver information, resources, tools and knowledge to adults to combat online, workplace
and school bullying. The CTP has been developed to ensure that we capture all the inputs when it comes to bullying to allow people like teachers and counsellors to apply this learning in school.
