The Daily Do Good serves both the organizations working to help others and the individuals who want to do more to help others, but might not know where to start. We believe
energy should go into giving, not into figuring out how to give. That's where we come in. We make it easy to do good, and we want to do even more. With these three projects, we will continue to take the stress out of raising money and finding ways to give
back.
1. Volunteer Board
This is our one-stop shop for volunteering opportunities. The board will have listings for long-term, short-term and one-day volunteer experiences. You'll get all information you need:
*** What you'll be doing
*** Who you'll be serving
*** The when and where
All in one place. No more searching multiple sites, spending hours figuring out how to find a place to give your time.
2. Calendar App
This app (Good on the Go) will allow you to look up charitable events on the spot. It's a comprehensive calendar of all things philanthropic happening in the DC Metro Area (and coming soon to other cities!)
3. The "Grow Your Good" half-day conference and workshop
A half-day conference scheduled for October 2015 for would-be volunteers, fundraisers, good-doers and philanthropists. Featuring TED Talk-style presentations on:
*** Raising money without doing a labor intensive event
*** Harnessing the power of social media to raise funds/awareness
*** Getting your board behind your mission and actively working to help grow/sustain the organization
*** Developing a strategic plan for next-level growth
Followed by a workshop where you will work with the presenter to design a plan of action using what you learned during the presentations
WHY Should You Support Us?
"The Daily Do Good is a unique and instrumental philanthropic organization which does an exceptional job of helping non-profits within the community gain recognition and awareness for their causes. We were so honored when they chose our non-profit
as their featured organization, and greatly appreciated the dedication they put forth to represent our mission to their growing audience. Our community needs The Daily Do Good to be kept continuously aware of opportunities for individuals to get involved and
give back." - Jennifer Marshall, Founder, This Is My Brave
"The Daily Do Good does more than spread kindness – it spreads information and awareness about incredible, local organizations. BEST Kids is completely dependent on long-term volunteers to serve as mentors for children in DC’s Foster Care
system, and The Daily Do Good works to empower organizations like ours through job postings, recruitment events, etc. As a growing non-profit, the services that The Daily Do Good provides are vital to our continued growth.”
- Danny Silbert, Mentor Recruiter, BEST Kids, Inc.
Since our launch in October 2014, we have introduced people to 30 nonprofit organizations (a new one every week!), allowing them to increase their reach, raise money and highlight the great work they are doing. Our "Meet Your Volunteer Valentine"
matchmaking event brought representatives from more than a dozen nonprofit organizations together with DC-area residents who were looking for skills-based volunteer opportunities. Think speed dating or job fair, except fun, and without the awkwardness and
desperation. In short, it was a hit.
We are doing good, but we want to do better, help us by contributing today….every contribution comes with a fun/useful reward:
