Emotions are involved with everything we do and determine how well we manage ourselves and adapt to the demands of life. The value of our ability to manage our behaviour, along with a positive morale, engagement, and commitment will determine how well we live our lives.
Jay Baughan is a social entrepreneur who specialises in building Emotional Resilience. He's the Founder of SEDi which is embedded into communities within Europe, Africa and the Middle East. During the last 9 years he's witnessed first-hand the increase in emotional burnout, social disengagement, anxiety and self-harm, and puts this down to the need to help people equip themselves for life by building their Emotional Resilience.
The biggest challenge across the world, is how to enable people to build and maintain their Emotional Resilience, whilst accepting people don't necessarily know that they need this help - let alone encourage them to do something about it.
#ResilientMe is Jay's personal approach to providing a safe learning and development environment for people to join. It raises awareness of the issues people face and provides a non-intrusive way to follow trusted experts and learn how to become emotionally resilient - to change how to face life. He is utilising his existing SEDi infrastructure to provide the environment into which #ResilientMe now supports a growing community of people to build and maintain their Emotional Resilience.
Why Crowdfunding?
#ResilientMe needs to grow its membership to inject working capital, and reach more people. This will in turn support the development of new resources - particularly in new languages, and which are relevant to the diverse cultural and geographical challenges which exist.
We have built #ResilientMe but now to create a digital marketing operation upon which to build. We seek £15,000 of initial funding that will help us build the digital foundations that will bring people into this exciting global learning community - by creating exciting docu-stories and awareness campaigns within social platforms and a website, to boost engagement.
The target is to re-engineer this £15,000 - through this digital marketing - to create £150,000 of new membership revenue.
#ResilientMe is designed to be commerically viable, which means that even though profit margins are low, the greater the membership the more working capital we have to grow with. We can be around for a long-time.
Being digital, globally collaborative and expert we can ensure that our resources are always fresh, and importantly.... culturally and geographically relevant.
Story So Far
Since 2015 Jay has invested considerable time and personal money to thoroughly test #ResilientMe - in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He's not only built a core membership of 1,249 people, but has also been able to create the correct commercial model that now enables people to join and enjoy being a member of #ResilientMe, whilst making sure profit can be created to sustain the provision of subsidised online courses, digital resources, webinars and (in certain countries) local meetups.
