I am a 43 year old Lady and a Logistic Specialist by profession having worked with Humanitarian Organisations in the East and Horn of African Region responding to some of the heart rending Emergency and Hunger stricken populations in Africa that often lead to deaths.
The experiences I have had led me to start a social enterprise / business that avails and supplies Ready-to-Use Therapeutic and Supplementary Foods at very subsidized prices to ensure that a larger number of those that require the nutritional supplements do not miss out on them and that they are affordable.
Society has changed and as we get more exposed to simpler ways of doing things, easier ways of getting information we are also getting to realize that every activity we undertake is focused more on what we can make out of it and not what can I give back in the process that will have social impact to our communities.
Based on social entrepreneurship, we have identified and are introducing a different way of doing business by incorporating CSR through “TRUE HAPPINESS IS GIVING SOCIETY”. Brad Supplies is a local Kenyan company that is spearheading social impact as its core business model and focuses more on responding and supporting nutritional response for communities affected by hunger and malnutrition.
We identify the communities affected, players within the locations including corporates, NGO’s, county governments, churches ,local communities and give a platform to interact and respond to the needs as they arise.
My business models makes use of my expertise, technology and efficiency to reduce any unnecessary costs that drive the prices high. This we do through sourcing
- On-time to eliminate any storage charges to the organizations as we deliver when they are required and ready for distribution
- Use of technology to reduce lead times and help organizations manage their stocks
- Negotiate lower prices with suppliers and freighters based on bulk procurement's which we then pass on to the end user
As our commitment to empowering girls and women, we are offering chances to young women from university to intern within our organization as i teach them skills to survive in employment or venture into their working/business life. We also involve them in understanding the role of women in ensuring the family gets proper nutrition to further decrease the levels of malnutrition within our communities.
To provide these essential supplements and save lives of children, pregnant/Breastfeeding women, the elderly those affected by HIV/AIDS and TB, we kindly request your support to raise at least USD 20,000 to increase our stock and ensure consistent supply.
