Did you know that the person most likely to ask for help at a homeless service, is a woman aged between 24 and 34 with a child?
#GoKindly is a Social Enterprise creating ethically sourced bed + bath goods, donating 50% of profits to charities supporting women & children experiencing homelessness. Our signature product is a bedroom pillow.
4 Bedroom Pillows = 1 Nights Accommodation for a Vulnerable Woman.
When we sell 4 Pillows we can provide 1 Nights Accommodation to a woman experiencing homelessness, we do this by supporting our partner charities WISHIN and Women’s Housing Ltd.
This crowdfunding campaign will help us get a workspace so we can grow and help more women & children. In 2019 we aim to provide 200 nights of accommodation and donate 200 pillows to women in need. We need your help to make this a reality.
Who are we?
#GoKindly was founded by Laura and David Conti. We believe Social Enterprises are the new business frontier, bringing compassion to business and using commercial opportunities to drive social change.
We’ve had a combined 35 years in business and finance, and we’re using our skills to build a business to support charities helping women experiencing homelessness. We have worked in the city and watched the homelessness increase year after year. We see people living rough as we get off and on the train and know that this is the tip of the iceberg. The last census recorded 49,000 women homeless with 40% escaping family violence.
Instead of feeling powerless, we created #GoKindly.
Our #KindlyPillow is comfortable and provides great neck support, making sure you sleep soundly.
Currently we operate out of our front room, but given our growth this is no longer possible. We need your help through this campaign to raise $20,000 to support our expansion.
Why should you support #GoKindly?
There are many wonderful reasons why you should support us:
- The more pillows we can sell - the more women and children we can support;
- With winter here, and more women and children experiencing housing stress, our growth is more important than ever;
- We have no single-use plastic, and ensure fair wages are paid throughout our supply chain;
- You can purchase a comfy pillow for yourself, or donate pillows to women experiencing homelessness;
- Our goods are all made in Melbourne, Australia;
- We support two fabulous charities – WISHIN and Women’s Housing Ltd, who provide emergency accommodation and long-term housing options for women experiencing homelessness.

The #GoKindly community includes our wonderful partners:
- Charities WISHIN and Womens Housing Ltd;
- ING Dreamstarter - we would not be here without their support
Ultimate Goal
#GoKindly’s mission is to provide an ongoing sustainable funding stream for grassroots charities helping women experiencing homelessness. We believe this is the best way to help women in need because these charities have a deep understanding of the problems and have real solutions. Based on the last census, women experiencing homelessness had risen 9.5% over 5 years. Ultimately, we want to see women experiencing homelessness decline.
Within 3 years we aim to be providing $100,000 per year to our charity partners which would provide 1,000 nights’ accommodation to women experiencing homelessness.
