We are raising funds to fund our podcast so that we can share information to help others. We already have a studio in place and the first eight episodes covered, but we need more money to keep it going past the first run of episodes. We will need money to host people who are coming onto the show from abroad as well as to pay our staff. Our vision is to have guests and experts come on to speak about mental health issues and how to cope with them. We believe we can change the stigma around these issues by talking about them openly. There is a mental health crisis in our country and around the world and our vision is us starting the hard conversations for people across the world to realize that they are not alone in their struggles and help give them the push to start their healing process.
We believe that people will be able to connect to the stories we will be able to share over this podcast and will get something out of it that they are not able to get in their daily lives currently.
The experts will also talk about vital information for individuals and their families. This podcast could help a lot of people who are afraid to open up about their own issues due to the stigma around mental health. We hope to create a platform that people can relate to and learn from.
The host of our show and the founder of our not-for-profit has suffered from mental health issues from his early 20's and has started this project because he believes that the main issue is that we as a country and globally are not having the hard conversations about mental health. He is a compassionate individual with incredible passion. Please help him and us in our mission to spread mental health awareness and share vital information to our country and world.
Who he is-
Paolo Dell Aquila, 50, is a former entrepreneur, sports performance coach and was an elite amateur athlete. He played multiple contact sports. He was a New York State wrestling champion in the private school division during his senior year. He is a former rugby player and boxing sparring partner/human punching bag for pro fighters in Europe. As a part-time job, he fought bare-knuckle for extra cash in London while attending college.
Paolo is now suffering from brain disorders which he believes are a result of his time playing all of the contact sports listed above as well as from playing football in high school and for the London Ravens. He has had numerous concussions, as well as countless sub-concussive hits as part of routine practices and gameplay. He was forced back into games and practices in an “inadequate amount of time” after receiving large blows to the head.
There is so much madness going on in our world that is pushed aside and not properly dealt with.
There are so many people that are suffering in silence, are lonely, or do not know where to turn. Some people face these issues even when surrounded by a loving, compassionate circle of friends and family. That is only a small part of why mental health issues are so prominent today. There is such a large stigma that individuals and families must face when they are trying to heal and cope with mental health matters. Now, while the topics are starting to surface, our society needs a platform that allows people to talk freely and to make these important topics heard and properly explained.
Our founders recognize that people need and want answers about how to start living healthier or get help but do not always know where to look.
This podcast and our website will be a platform for people to connect with stories and even submit requests for topics that they want to hear about.
We are a grassroots not-for-profit with a very limited budget and are lucky to have come as far as we have. Every dollar counts to us and helps us move closer to our goals of helping others. Every dollar we raise goes to funding our podcast and our programs to help others. Donating to this campaign is a step in the right direction towards combating mental illness with love and acceptance.
We thank you for your time and your support. There is strength in numbers.
