Fire Forged Recovery is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that helps people find a path towards wholeness by helping them to develop new tools. By getting back in touch with buried hopes and dreams lost through years of addiction, loss and trauma, people use their inner strength to build or rebuild a life free of unhealthy attachments. Since forming the organization in January of 2016, we have had the honor of watching people of ages ranging from 16 to 60 find recovery and restore talents, aspirations, joys and families thought to be long lost in the wreckage of addiction.
Our story began over 25 years ago when out founder and some members of our board worked unceasingly in their professional and family lives to help clients and loved ones find freedom from drug addiction. The years were filled with examples of unexpected delight and success, and also crippling sadness when someone's inability to achieve recovery lead to overwhelming losses- sometimes even death. We knew that there had to be more to the equation than helping people learn to get sobriety within the walls of a program, only to watch them sometime fall right back into dysfunction when treatment ended. Through combining life coaching and recovery tools, and diving right into the client's life with them, we have seen remarkable successes. With your help, we can turn these tools on one of the most intractable problems in our society-- homelessness. Together, we can house at least five homeless families affected by addiction, and provide life recovery coaching to them. Along with medical, counseling, nutritional and vocational supports, we can help the families get themselves firmly planted on a foundation of recovery that will affect the rest of their lives. You'll be giving the children of these households far more than a donation of toys for the holidays. You will be helping them to experience the priceless gifts of a home within which to play with those toys, and the joy of sober, present parenting. This gift, full of possibility, will change our world for years to come.
