The goal of our film is to…
•
Change the life of at least one homeless individual for the better by selling our film and raising enough funds to invest in a property
•
Find a solution for the homeless situation and help put it into practice
•
Educate people on how they can help and how their support can change lives
•
Uncover and expose the problems that are hindering the goals of the homeless
• Help homeless charities and organisations by showcasing them to a larger audience
• Reach a worldwide audience and give the homeless people in Australia a face and a voice that will not be ignored
We will tackle the issues such as lack of affordable housing, and the way housing departments constantly knock back the homeless by constantly creating extra ‘hoops for them to jump through’.
The misconception that homeless people are lazy, drug addicts that do not deserve our support, which leads to social alienation. The lack of support from the government and the incredible support that private organisations offer. The impact that homelessness
has on the community and what we together can do to help.
The goal is that our feature film Homeless Australia reach a large number of people, and show them what can be done to bring change, and how we as a community can come together for a better
society.
Anyone can help...
$20,000 Tipping Point Goal
We believe in our project and we intend to work pro bono to make it happen.
All the money raised will go into the film and into helping the homeless. All we ask for are production costs in the order of $20000, otherwise we will not be able to cover this issue properly
and give it the attention it deserves.
We will need to be able to research and develop our film, pay for shooting permits, travel expenses, post production, marketing and distribution and somehow still keep a roof over our heads
over the course of a year. To put this into perspective it will only cost us $1600 a month to shoot this film whereas it would costs tens of thousands if we were to be paid to make it. We plan to release the film on the 1st
of June 2015, in one years time.
Tipping Point Goal:
Once we reach the $20000 we will have been able to fully fund this project and cover all the issues surrounding the homeless and hopefully find a workable solution to the problem by coming
together as a community. However the ultimate goal is $30000 which will actually help get a homeless individual off the streets.
Ultimate goal:
Our ultimate goal is to use the remaining $10000 that will be raised after the tipping point to make copies of the film to be distributed by the homeless around Australia. Every copy of the
film will cost $1.40 to make and will be sold at $10 each, which will turn out a profit of $61000(+/-). All of the proceeds (100%) will go towards directly housing the homeless. We want to bring change that can actually be seen.
Help us make a feature. Help us make a difference.
