"TOLLMAGEDDON" is being reaped upon the state of Florida by the non-elected officials of the Florida Department of Transportation, Miami-Dade Expressway Authority, Central Florida Expressway Authority, Tampa-Hillsorough Expressway Authority
and other tolling authorities.
Drivers are being unfairly tolled/taxed and must come together to ensure that the power to decide on whether tolls and toll increases are necessary is given to voters.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Residents of Florida voting on tolls and toll increases, will make tolling/taxing in Florida more fair and equitable. The supporters of the political action committee Drivers Ready to
Improve, Vote and Empower (D.R.I.V.E.) are working to amend Florida's constitution, to give residents the power to vote on tolls.
Help us send the message...NO MORE TOLLS without voter approval!
In Florida, a constitutional amendment petition drive requires that nearly 700,000 registered voters sign a petition supporting the amendment. Our team must submit each signature on each petition to be verified by the Supervisor of Elections in the County
with which each voter is registered, at a cost of $0.10 per petition. With postage currently at $0.49 to mail each petition to each voter and then to the Supervisor of Elections, in order to be successful in this monumental endeavor, we need to raise at minimum
$700,000.
The political action committee Drivers Ready to Improve, Vote and Empower (D.R.I.V.E.) has set a goal of raising $1.6 million by January 2016 to fund the mailings, advertising campaigns, manpower and resources needed for this campaign. This
may seem like a large amount, but amending our state constitution is no easy undertaking and
supporting the constitutional amendment petition drive is the best solution to the unfair tolling that is hurting drivers throughout Florida.
Please help us reach our first fundraising goal of $100,000 by June!
