Regrowth Festival needs you! After 12 years of environmentally-conscious, musically-forward and community-oriented festivals we are facing a huge deficit and without your support we won't be able to continue.
The Regrowth Festival is an environmentally sustainable festival that enables all participants to be part of a positive environmental project and to celebrate our capacity as a community. The Regrowth Festival uses renewable energy, maximises recycling and composting of waste, hosts environmentally themed workshops, as well as a range of other measures to reduce the ecological footprint of the festival and its patrons. We were very happy to have our efforts recognised by achieving a “Highly Commended” award from the independent and internationally recognised “Greener Festival Award”.
Central to the festival is the restoration of a degraded area of the festival site through large scale revegetation works. Volunteer tree planting efforts have so far planted more than 71,000 trees across three Festival sites. Regrowth Festival is a sustainable event that aims to have a positive impact on our beautiful planet.
The festival is run by RE-GEN Eco Events, a volunteer-based non-profit.
Our most recent festival took place at a new location and a new time of year, January 20-23 2017 on the shores of Lake Liddel in the Hunter Valley. It had the usual mix of great music, environmental consciousness and wonderful people.
Those who attended had an incredible time. Here's just a tiny sample of the comments on the event Facebook page:
"Regrowth 2017 was genuinely one of the most profound festival experiences I've had in many years. Thankyou so much to the crew and everybody that attended for making it what it was."
"Never have I been to a festival in which I heard ONLY good music and felt ONLY good vibes. unparalleled."
"one of the most exciting, thoughtful and informative festivals about."
"Thank you so much to all the crew for putting on a truly unique festival! It was clear how much positive intention went into the planning and running of the weekend it really was unforgettable."
Our huge thanks to everyone who shared their music, art, energy and good times with us. You make Regrowth what it is.
But perhaps as a result of the new location and timing and additional compliance costs at this new location there just weren't enough of us at the last Festival. We fell short of our expected numbers and as a result have been left with a more that $60,000 deficit. We hope this crowdfunding campaign, after costs, can cover at least a third of that, putting us within realistic striking distance of making up the gap with some indoor fundraiser events. If this campaign could cover it all we would be so happy and grateful.
Regrowth is about so much more than the team of organisers; it's about all of us, and what we can create together.
With your help we know that Regrowth can come back better and stronger than ever, continuing to show how Festivals can contribute to the land they take place on rather than degrading it, how we can combine the best, silliest, most expressive fun with thoughtfulness, education and activism. And how we can bring together such a diverse range of music and wonderfully eclectic people to just have an amazing time together.
RENEWABLES NOW action at the last Regrowth, which took place across Lake Liddel from a coal-fired power station.Rewards:
