What is Source CleanTech
Source CleanTech is a website for unifying, staying up to date with, and engaging the global renewable energy community.
Why Source CleanTech
There is a shortage of good web magazines about renewable energy; there are only a handful. By contrast there are countless technology web magazines.
Still, with other renewable energy magazines out there, is there space for Source CleanTech to be successful?
There are also already renewable energy forums on the internet, is there space for Source CleanTech to be successful?
Yes.
This market is underserved and there is space for a quality site like Source CleanTech - and we are passionate about this and we want to be the people to do it!
Furthermore, Source CleanTech has a revolutionary new blended approach: wherein the polished "magazine" stage is cleared of commercial messages, and given to those that are passionate about renewable energy. There are two parts to the secret sauce:
1. Open Author with Moderation: Source CleanTech's open author appraoch means anyone that has something to say about renewable energy can say it and engage the community directly. Moderation stops spam and commerical messages, but posts any message that
is relevent to renewable energy.
This point is difficult to communicate, but is a critical part of this project. Allow me to use an example to illustrate. Let's say there is a graduate student with interesting research on a renewable energy topic and an entrprenuer who is doing a startup
centered on reduced energy consumption products. Both of these people reach out to the leading magazines on renewable energy, but are ignored because those leading magazines are focused on filtering content that supports a better bottom line for themselves
- after all they have high costs associated with running their business.
Alternatively, if these two people reached out to Source CleanTech they would have their story published and be engaging the community almost instantly - Source CleanTech's operating costs are so low that it doesn't affect the actions of the organization,
allowing Source CleanTech's primary and only objective to be add value to the community.
2. Simple & Clean: The layout is clean, simple, attractive, and intuitive so users can focus on the content.
Wait a minute, you said "cleared the stage of commerical messages" but you obviously have ads on the site, what gives? Those ads are necessary to make the site self sufficient and cover costs like web hosting and moderation. The difference is that they are
clearly ads, and those ads never affect the content or how the content is displayed.
Who is Source CleanTech For
Everyone interested in the renewable energy community, especially those that have a voice on the topic and want to be heard.
Why We Need Your Backing
