Our Story
21 Vets Incorporated is a Veteran-centered treatment campus. Our mission
is to help reduce the Veteran suicide rates. At 21 Vets, we provide timely treatment that is tailored specifically to each Veteran enrolled in our 6-month, 9-month, and 12-month programs. Our goal is to reduce the Veteran suicide rates which has averaged approximately 21 Veteran suicides per day since 2001.
Our Project
At 21 Vets, we provide tailored on-site treatment to Veterans diagnosed with post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and military sexual trauma. The 21 Vets project aims to raise funds to provide furniture for the Veteran homes at our on-site treatment campus. Every single penny will go towards a Veteran at our campus.
Why It Matters
Since 2001, over 500,000 Veterans have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress. Another 383,000 Veterans have been diagnosed with traumatic brain injury. And more than 50,000 Veterans have been classified as a high risk for suicide.
Our Warriors spend countless hours training for war. We've only
recently come to understand that many require training on how to return
to civilian life. They have explained that one day they are in a brutal fire fight in Afghanistan where they saw
carnage and death... and just three days later they found themselves
toting an ice chest to their kid's soccer game. We are good at training our Warriors to fight... but we have NOT been as good at preparing them to come home.
Why does this matter? We believe that our Veterans deserve and require tailored treatment and direct access to care. Our current Veterans care system has experienced a significant backlog that has not attained an ability to meet demands.
We want to reduce these barriers by providing a unique program that was designed by combat Veterans for Veterans. After all, it's a small price to
pay for the sacrifices they made!
