Our Story
Our goal is to empower youth to protect the planet. One shirt at a time.
Drizzle Apparel Co. is a social enterprise clothing company founded to provide sustainable funding for Drizzle Environmental Society's youth environmental initiatives, including the Youth Environmental Challenge.
With each item sold by Drizzle Apparel Co., half of the profits go directly to youth environmental initiatives led by Drizzle Environmental Society, our non-profit organization empowering youth to protect the planet. The remaining profits are reinvested into the growth of the company.
We want to leave the planet better than when we found it and we incorporate this into every decision we make, from product development to the implementation of sustainable business practices. Every shirt we sell is produced in Canada, with our manufacturer sourcing original fabrics from ethical and sustainable sources overseas. We will continue to do in-depth research of all stages of our product production to ensure our products are both ethically and sustainably produced.
We believe in a greener future. Today’s youth will be tomorrow’s leaders. By empowering them to protect the planet, we are investing in the future teachers, business leaders, and politicians of our world.
In September 2015, we launched with our first product, the Tree Guardian Tee, with shipping initially being offered to Canada and the United States.
We launched this campaign to raise $10000 to grow our social enterprise, including the development of new products and the expansion of shipping to customers around the world. We want Drizzle Apparel Co. to become a leader in social enterprise and sustainable business, while driving the development and growth of Drizzle Environmental Society's youth environmental programs.
Some examples of future products include:
Our Arctic Protector Tee - 50% organic cotton, 50% recycled polyester
And our Sea Guardian Tee - 50% organic cotton, 50% recycled polyester
About Drizzle Environmental Society
Drizzle Environmental Society is a non-profit organization empowering youth to protect the planet. Our main initiative, the Youth Environmental Challenge, challenges youth to complete five eco-friendly actions of any size over one school year. With zero promotion and simply using the power of social media, we have had over 200 youth from 19 countries sign up to take the challenge. With sustainable funding coming into the organization, we will be able to expand our initiative into schools and inspire a generation of youth to live greener lives.
Our Budget
If we successful raise $10000, the allocation will be as follows:
$7500 - Product development & production
$1500 - Administering of rewards
$1000 - Administration costs (such as applying for B-Corp and related statuses)
Any additional funds will be further divided into product development. We will also set some additional funds away for the creation of a storefront and community space for environmental initiatives.
