What are we doing
We arrange for beach cleaning on otherwise beautiful Sri Lankan beaches. We film the work and provide full accounting. Our local partner, Waste Less Arugam Bay is Fair Trade certified and is commited to best practices regarding recycling and disposal. They are motivated and have the ideas. They just need to close the financial gap between what they can get from the recycler and their operational costs.
Why are we doing it.
Sri Lanka has beautiful beaches. They are a valuable resource for coastal communities. But there is considerable plastic and other litter destroying the value of the beaches. This project keeps the beaches around Arugam Bay clean from beach trash.
